University of Regina women’s basketball head coach Dave Taylor announced Friday that the Cougars have received commitments from local post Angela Bongomin and Dalhousie transfer Ainsley MacIntyre (pictured) for the 2016-17 season.
Bongomin, who checks in at 6-3, is coming off a Grade 12 season that saw her Luther Lions defend their home court to win the Luther Invitational Tournament title back in February. Named the tournament MVP, Bongomin piled up 34 points and 17 rebounds for Luther in the championship final. Luther also qualified for Hoopla in the 5A bracket this year, a season after winning the city small-school title in 2015.
