RM of Kindersley: Road Update

By RM of Kindersley, April 28, 2016

April 28th ROAD UPDATE

NOTICE:

All Heavy Haul Traffic 10 Ton and Over

Agricultural/ Oilfield and Others:

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

THERE WILL BE NO MORE SPECIAL PERMISSION GIVEN TO MOVE DURING A ROAD RESTRICTION.

All Travel is “DRY/FROZEN ROADS

We have tried to let companies use (good discretion/ judgement) when weather conditions are not good and it has not been adhered to!  This was very disappointing and will not be tolerated.

We have two roads that have been damaged and the RM of Kindersley No. 290 is not happy with the outcome of our last restriction!

We do have an idea of which companies this may be, but no solid proof.

We are also aware that there are companies that do adhere to the rules but it is way too hard especially in this last restriction to verify who has the permission.  Yes there was a lot of traffic in a heavy rain!

If you are caught on the roads during a restriction you will be fined/ permits revoked and no travel within the RM until council meets and makes a decision.

When the moisture starts you are to get to the closest highway from where you are and no further travel on any of the RM roads until restriction is over and roads you need to use are dry.

We will be watching very closely for any movement!

Watch the weather and if rain is in the forecast, get you’re hauling done well in advance.

Restrictions will be posted to the website as soon as we feel the roads should not be traveled on in the whole RM.

ANNUAL PRIMARY WEIGHT PERMITS WILL OPEN ON MAY 1st!

Try and get your information for your annual permit to the RM office ASAP or email rleipert@rmofkindersley.ca so you can receive your permit for May 1st.

The cost of an annual primary weight permit is $100.00 plus GST from May 1st until Breakup in 2017.

The form for both Annual and Daily permits that you need to fill out is in the form tab on our website.
