Sask harvest well ahead of average pace

WINNIPEG, Sept. 7 – Harvest in Saskatchewan is proceeding ahead of the five-year average with 45 percent of the overall crop in the bin. The 2012-16 average for this time of year is 28 percent.

Another 28 percent of crops are swathed or ready to be straight cut.

Farmers in the southwest region of the province are most advanced with 70 percent of crops harvested.
