Sobeys Liquor Coming to the East Crossing Mall in Kindersley

After much speculation, it has just been confirmed that Sobeys Liquor will be coming to the East Crossing Mall here in Kindersley.

Commenting this morning were Jeff Soveran and Murray Dunn, co-owners of the East Crossing Mall. “We plan to start the construction of the building within the next 30 days,” stated Soveran,“ with the project finishing before the year end. Sobeys Liquor should be open for business by early 2018.”

The Sobeys Liquor Store will be the first shop in what is known as “Phase 2” in the development of the East Crossing Mall, located at 705 11th Avenue East at the corner of Highway 7 and Ditson Drive.  Phase 1 started back in the winter of 2013, when shovels readied Kindersley for a new shopping centre.  Murlin Electronics and Camerons Clothing Company were among the first to move in during the fall of 2014; later to be joined by Taco Time in late spring. Busted Barbell and PetValu are the latest retailers to move in, opening their doors just before Christmas 2016.

Soveran and Dunn are excited to see the expansion of the East Crossing Mall, and the changes it will bring to Kindersley. The fact that Kindersley will receive its first privatized liquor store is also creating a stir in the community. “This is a first for Kindersley,” says Soveran, “and the impact it will carry is still yet to be seen.
