Southwest competitors had their share of success at Canadian Cowboys Association rodeos in Eston and Unity during the first weekend in June.
Nine cowboys and cowgirls brought home money from a CCA event in Eston. Maple Creek’s Mardi Yarshenko led the way with a win in Ladies Barrel Racing in 13.48 seconds for $825.
Waldeck’s Tee and Scott McLeod placed second in Team Roping in 7.0 seconds for $1,209. Lucky Lake’s Tyler Getz and Swift Current’s Blaine Switzer placed fifth in 7.7 seconds for $453.
