Town Approaches Marijuana Question

With the coming legalization of marijuana, also known as cannabis, the Town of Kindersley and the RCMP are welcoming community feedback on the implications the ruling will have on the town of Kindersley.

On February 27, a Town Hall Meeting will be held at the Elks Hall at 7:00 p.m. A short presentation will be given and attendees will have the opportunity to address questions and concerns.

When cannabis is legalized, local officials will be responsible for writing out and enforcing their own regulations surrounding the recreational use and sale of cannabis. Of course the Government of Canada will have its own plan, but each local community will need to decide exactly what that looks like in its own area.

Feedback from the community will help Council to make decisions related to the establishment of cannabis retail outlets, zoning restrictions, and other cannabis-related considerations.
