Town of Kindersley: Replacement to Begin on 2nd Ave West Water Main

172 metres of water main pipe to be replaced

Water main replacement for 2nd Ave West is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 4. To ensure water service for affected residents, temporary water service lines are being installed.

The emergency water main work was approved by Council on Monday, October 2, during a Special Meeting of Council. The replacement work is due to line breaks last month that were caused by corroded and aging pipes. The project involves replacing 172 meters of water main pipe between 5th Street West and 6th Street West, including two water hydrants and five valves. The budget authorized by the Council for the project is not to exceed $100,000.

Addresses that will be affected and will be connected to temporary water service this week are the following:

#1 6th Street Cres.,

#2  6th Street Cres.,

#120 6th Street West,

#121 5th Street West.

Heritage Estates

Once water service is restored, a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory is in effect for addresses affected.
