Winter Angels Program Recognizes Volunteers
TOWN OF KINDERSLEY·TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2015
We hear many stories about neighbours helping neighbours and sharing random acts of kindness. Whether assisting a neighbour out of a snow bank, shovelling someone’s driveway, or clearing the sidewalk for the entire block, many citizens are actively going out of their way to do something for others.
Winter snow and ice can provide challenges for everyone. But for some, particularly seniors and persons with disabilities, shovelling snow can be difficult and even dangerous. They need your help to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice this winter.
To acknowledge the kindness of our residents and to encourage others to lend a helping hand, the Town of Kindersley is launching a Winter Angels Program.
If you know people who go out of their way to make this winter safer for others, please let us know at 306-463-2675. Our Municipal Enforcement Officers will formally thank these individuals in person with a token of appreciation. Thank you to the local business sponsors who are helping us to reward these good deeds.
Angel Volunteers
Would you like to volunteer to be a winter angel? Submit your name and contact information to communications@kindersley.ca and we will pass it on to anyone requiring some assistance this winter.
Help a neighbour in need with sidewalk clearing by becoming a winter angel. The safety of your neighbourhood is in your hands this winter. Keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice allows for you, your neighbours, service providers, and emergency responders to walk safely.
