Dennis Beerling, an international track and field official and long time supporter of the sport, gave a passionate speech to Monday’s committee meeting highlighting the concerns of the local track and field community.
Although nothing has been confirmed by the University of Saskatchewan, there are rumors that when the artificial turf is replaced at Griffiths Stadium, in 2017, the track around the field will be removed allowing the stands to be moved closed.
