Saskatoon’s Amanda Soulodre says she was in awe waiting for around 50 elk to wander past
It might not be surprising for people on their way to the Elk Ridge Resort in Saskatchewan to see an elk or two along the way. Around 50 elk caused the most Saskatchewan traffic jam ever for one woman driving along Highway 264 over the weekend.
Amanda Soulodre, who lives in Saskatoon, was spending some time with her two children at their cottage at Elk Ridge. The family often spots small groups of elk in the area and Soulodre said it always feels a bit overwhelming to see majestic, beautiful animals.
“In this instance there was just three times that amount, and for them to be all trying to cross the road at the same time was a really, really cool experience,” she said.
She stopped the vehicle to let the animals pass and decided to take a video which she later posted on Facebook.
“I was in awe the entire time, trying to savour that moment,” she said.
