The Kindersley RCMP shared a traffic tip on their Facebook page this morning. Reminding the public that compression release engine brakes (jake brakes) are prohibited within the Town of Kindersley limits.
According to the RCMP they have been receiving several complaints lately of trucks using these brakes on Highway 21 within town limits.
Under the Town of Kindersley Traffic Bylaw section 46: No person shall operate, apply, or use compression release engine brakes, except in the case of an emergency, when the operation of such brakes is necessary to avoid the possibility of a collision or dangerous situation.
