Protesters are again targeting an African hunting expo set for Saskatoon.
An online petition calling for Saskatoon’s Travelodge Hotel to cancel an upcoming African Events Canada expo has gained more than 7,000 signatures in three days.
The petition is the second in the last month aiming for the event’s cancellation. The Saskatoon Inn backed out in mid-December from hosting the event after an online petition garnered thousands of signatures.
African Events Canada gives outfitters from across Southern Africa the opportunity to showcase their safaris and expeditions to Canadian hunters.
A protest is also being planned for the weekend of the expo, which is set for Jan. 23 and 24.
