Highway closed for more than 8 hours after crash
A man is dead after his Dodge pickup truck collided head-on with a semi Friday afternoon on Highway 39, near Weyburn, Sask.
The collision happened at about 1:50 p.m. CST, when the two vehicles collided head on with each other.
The truck driver died at the scene.
The semi-truck driver was treated on site by an ambulance crew and didn’t require further attention. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
RCMP members are continuing to investigate the crash, which caused the highway to be closed until 9 p.m. on Friday.
Highway 39 is a single-lane roadway that runs southeast from Moose Jaw through Weyburn, all the way to Portal, at the U.S. border.
