WCA – Thank You for Supporting the Community Consultation Meeting

By West Central Abilities’ Board of Directors and Kim Edmunds, Executive Director, May, 2016

West Central Abilities Inc. extends a huge thank you to all those who attended the community consultation meeting on April 29.

About 60 people were there. We appreciate your time and the positive concern shown toward improving services for people with disabilities and making Kindersley a more inclusive community for all people.

We wish to applaud all the members of Town Council. Your progressive efforts in assisting WCA to find a central location for our essential service have given us renewed energy.  You have demonstrated that you recognize the need and that you are committed to engaging the community and helping Kindersley to be a great place to live. We will persist in finding a suitable location to build a modern facility for day programs to operate from and to serve citizens in a variety of ways.

Thank you, Wayne Gibson and Mei Shan Wan for the various forms of communications.  Your expertise is so welcomed.

WCA commends its staff team in assisting Kim and the Board with the public consultation. Thank you Leanne Boychuk, Colette Pelletier and Regan Overand for helping with the additional work and to all the staff in sharing the vision of a central resource centre.

There is still a need for people to become involved.  There is a lot of fundraising to be done and volunteers are needed for various committees.  The facility will be used to serve the community for years to come.  Investing our time, energy and resources now will not only benefit individuals currently using the services, but also those who will require services in the future.

Anyone who wishes to become involved may contact our office at (306) 463-2727 for more information.

WCA Annual General Meeting will be held on June 22, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. at The Brethren in Christ Church.
