Winter Storm Warning in Effect for Kindersley and Surrounding Area

It may be Spring but hazardous winter conditions are expected in Kindersley and area today.

A low pressure system coming from Alberta will bring snow and blowing snow to southern Saskatchewan tonight and Sunday.

The precipitation may begin as thunderstorms before transitioning to snow in the evening. Northeasterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h combined with snow will decrease visibility due to blowing snow.

According to Environment Canada the snow may be heavy at times and accumulate rapidly. Snowfall amounts are forecasted to be in the 10cm to 20cm range with pockets of higher amounts.

Conditions are expected to improve Sunday evening.

Please stay alert for future updates.

Be advised to reconsider non-essential travel plans and postpone until conditions improve.
