Yoga is more than in fashion. It’s a movement.
It dates back over 5000 years – making it more of a timeless tradition than just in style – with a growing number of followers, a staggering 200 million people worldwide…. and counting.
But why has yoga survived all these years while other workouts reach their life-expectancy?
Physically we know yoga encompasses postures promoting full range of motion and science tells us using the breath as a bridge between mind and body brings harmony to our physical bodies on a cellular level. However, yoga carries unseen benefits as well.
The most impactful development received from the practice is not superficial.
There are different stems under the yoga tree that contribute to and promote those who practice to seek deeper within to expand consciousness. All eight limbs lead to examining the self beyond the five senses leading to fulfilling one’s full potential. The individual turns inward to nd inner peace, calm, concentration, focus, balance, clarity, surrender, self-control and much more.
It is where people come to grow into awareness and personal development at their own pace. Without judgement. Without force. Without criticism.
It is the self unfolding perfectly with its own tempo just like the unhurried ower opening to the sun without demand to conform with an expected timeline.
There is no hurry yet everything gets accomplished.
It’s where being yourself, being unique and where individualism is celebrated and encouraged.
It’s where standing out is fitting in (thehotroom).
Don’t be surprised if you see that on a t-shirt some time soon 🙂
